Cofounder, Chief Technology Officer
As cofounder of Credivera, Elena compliments the company’s ability to spot digital identity and credentialing trends across industry boundaries. As a computer scientist and ecosystem builder, Elena is a driving force in global blockchain adoption. Previously an executive in software development and sales, Elena built software for the energy and automotive industries in the form of multi-party, open network solutions for business spend management, electronic consumer wallets and ecommerce. Her career began as internet technologies were taking off in the automotive industry. Leading the architecture of the first build and price solution for North American car makers led to a new opportunity to join the team behind the first consumer electronic wallet in the early 2000s. Both of these early-career opportunities have driven Elena’s passion to explore and push traditional boundaries of how we use technology every day. Her latest project, Credivera, encompasses a life-long goal of enabling transparent, safe and portable information sharing: identity and proof.
Her passion is growing the capabilities of the next generation of Canadian innovators. She contributes her research and industry knowledge to leading associations such as the CompTIA Blockchain Council, the International Council of Badges and Credentials, the CIO Strategy Council; as well as entrepreneurial foundations such as the A100, Platform Calgary, Alberta Innovates and Technovation.
